Weatherboard replacement
Replacing your weatherboards is more than a repair. It's a chance to upgrade the whole wall system.
If your house hasn't been renovated in the last 20 or so years, it's unlikely to have thermal insulation in the walls, and that can have a serious impact on your energy bills. For period homes with beautiful timber windows and architraves, it's also the perfect opportunity to bring that original character back to life.
Our process is thorough. We remove the existing boards, straighten the wall frame, install thermal insulation and fit a weather barrier to the latest building code. We also re-flash the tops of timber windows and infill timber behind your architraves to close that unsightly gap between board and architrave.
We finish with pre-primed, sealed, premium-grade weatherboards, so your home looks great and performs better for years to come.

Why upgrade your weatherboards?
Lower energy bills
Most older homes have no wall insulation. New boards are the time to add it.
Protect the frame
A new weather barrier and flashings keep water out of the wall.
Bring back the character
Timber windows and architraves restored and properly finished.
Lift street appeal
Straight, sealed boards make a big difference, especially before a sale.
How we do it
Inspect and quote
We look at the boards, frame, windows and flashings, then give you a free quote for exactly what's needed.
Remove the existing boards
The old boards come off so we can see and fix what's behind them.
Straighten the wall frame
We straighten the frame so the new boards sit flat and true.
Insulate and weatherproof
We install thermal insulation and a weather barrier to the latest building code.
Re-flash windows and infill architraves
We re-flash the tops of timber windows, then infill timber behind the architraves so the boards meet them flush. Closing that gap gives a solid, even surface, which is what lets the paint finish come up clean and sharp.
Fit premium weatherboards
Pre-primed, sealed, premium-grade boards, matched to your home's profile.
Professional painting
Painting is one of the most important parts of the job for us. Every board, architrave and window is properly prepared and professionally painted, so the finish looks sharp and protects the timber for years.
Common questions
Can you match my existing boards?
Yes. Matching the original profile is what we specialise in, so repairs blend in with the rest of the house.
Do you replace just a few boards?
Sometimes. In rare cases the wall is already straight, has the right insulation paper and is insulated. When that's the case, we recommend our in-situ board replacement option, where we replace only the damaged boards and leave the rest of the wall in place. We'll tell you which option suits your home when we quote.
Can you insulate the walls at the same time?
Yes. We fully insulate every wall we remove weatherboards from. If your home hasn't been renovated in the last 20 or so years, it probably has no wall insulation, so this is the ideal time to add it.
Coming in 2027: insulation for walls that don't need their weatherboards replaced. Enquire now to get in early.
Do you paint the new boards?
Yes. Professional painting is a big part of what we do. The new boards, architraves and windows are prepared and painted so the whole wall looks finished.
Are quotes free?
Yes. We'll come out, look at the job and give you a free quote.
How long does it take?
Typically, one wall takes about 2.5 weeks when scaffolding is involved. That's full project completion, including carpentry, scaffolding, painting and rubbish removal. We'll confirm the timeframe for your home with your quote.
Which areas do you cover?
Essendon, Moonee Ponds, Ascot Vale, Spotswood, Footscray and nearby suburbs.
